Halloween 2014

This is such a great age for holidays!  Noah and his friends had so much fun the past couple weeks celebrating Fall and Halloween.  The pumpkin patches, parties, games, crafts, etc and of course Trick or Treating!  I look at some of the pictures from yesterday and they remind me of the old pictures you see around Facebook these days of "TBT halloween 1980something".  Makes me happy thinking noah can look back on this stuff :-) I didn't take a lot of pictures trick or treating cause i really enjoyed walking around with Noah. He was so good and so excited!

Halloween Highlights:
This felt skeleton decoration/game kept noah busy for hours!

a couple football sundays we did halloween activities.  Pumpkin decoration and halloween jello

Fall Fest at Cherry Lane

Making pumpkin muffins with mommy

Halloween morning

I do surprise him with a bag full of treats because i do like taking most of his candy away. Id rather let him play with some new stuff then all the sugar.  This year he got: Mickey skeleton stuffed animal, pretend  foam sword, monster inc stickers, darth vador pez dispenser, spider man plate, and 2 blind bags.

Then Mommy and noah went on a special breakfast date to IHOP. It was free monster pancakes for the kids. Noah was SOOO good (he usually isn't great in restaurants).  We played games with the sugar packs (how many pinks? how many yellow?).  Then when the pancakes arrived he took his job decorating the face very seriously

Trick or Treat!

checking out their loot!

Moments to remember:
  • The boys were SOO excited to say trick or treat... some houses they ran into the house as soon as the person opened the door
  • Sometimes they would sit on the pavement and rest haha
  • Noah loved the houses where the dogs came to the door too
  • He would say Thank you every time!
  • He did not like some of the houses with scary witches or decorations that moved.
  • the boys LOVED giving out the candy once we got back to our house! They would give so much of it out (but at that point it was no big deal).  They would ask "do you like chocolate bars? ok have this one"... "how about a glow stick" haha.... one lady actually gave the boys some of her candy cause she said they were the nicest kids all night.... one older boy actually said "ok thats enough" haha.
  • Again this is such a fun age and we love getting excited right along with them :-)

5 on friday - October 24

1) We just got back Noahs preschool pictures this morning and i am obsessed! He always gets the best pictures done at school... probably cause he listens to his teachers and other people better than he listens to me. :-)

 2) We finally used a gift card he got for his birthday and went to Build A Bear... we did this before as a reward for getting a big boy bed last christmas but this time he really understood what was going on. Was able to chat and joke with the girl helping, and was super proud of himself for making Toothless (dragon from How to Train your Dragon)... his choice that he picked

3) Last Sunday we went to Argos Farm, which is always a favorite of mine. Its local and has expanded over the year to include more and more fun for little kids and families. This day was particularly cold out so the crowds weren't to bad. And we got there right at opening.  We played for a couple hours and then went into their new Barn/Food area where we picked up some fresh apple donuts, and some burgers and fries before heading home for nap :-)

Noah always loves the giant bounce area

And this year he could go down the slide by himself!

 Family Shots
After Argos the Mullers came over for Football Sunday and we decorated pumpkins with the kids

4) Noah has really enjoyed playing with legos and blocks lately.  I was thinking we don't really own any "bell and whistle" toys.. you know the ones that need batteries and light up etc. Besides the iPad most of his toys are imagination toys or figures, cars, planes, etc.   He acts out scenes with the blocks and builds different things. This is my favorite stuff to watch him play lately

5) and our latest OBSESSION is.... "Blind bags and blind boxes"... again i blame youtube.. its along the same lines as the surprise easter eggs that we still enjoy, but this time they are bags with a theme and you don't know whats inside. The problem is that they sell these at a lot of stores...unlike the Kinder Surprise Eggs that you can't get here, Noah sees blind bags in the store and brian and i are suckers and we have been giving them out for rewards.. and we secretly are just as excited to see whats inside haha... Our Favorite are the Teenymates NFL bags.
We own a lot of these and i think we are only missing 6 teams.  What i think is neat is Noah now knows all the team logos and he can name them all. AND he knows about 50% of the quarterbacks haha.  He will go "wheres Jay Cutler....oh there he is" He asks everyone who their favorite team is. (teachers, karate teacher, gymnastic teachers etc) and if they say a team that someone else already likes he makes them pick again "no you don't like the eagles, charlie likes the eagles".

When my 3 year old knows who the patriots are and can bring me two figures saying "this is tom brady and Gronk".. i feel like i am doing something right ;-)

5 on friday - oct 10 2014

I was looking back on some of my old posts this week and realized some of my favorites were the random ones that i did 5 on Friday.. its a good way to cram all the random stuff going on and i can try to be more consistent of a blogger.

1) DISNEY!!  Its about 24 days a way and i can not wait. All of the planning gets stressful but I'm happy with our game plan, fast passes, and restaurant choices!  I have started organizing some of the Mickey Mail noah will be getting (not sure if i am gonna do it each morning when he wakes up or at night when we get back to hotel, maybe each morning because i am bringing some fun disney snacks, glow sticks, a little toy or light up to keep him busy in lines or at night)... hey i might even do both cause some days he gets new disney pajamas!  I also ordered him some fun shirts to wear during the trip :-)

2) Last weekend we went down to LBI for chowderfest. Noah did pretty well, it was cold and it got pretty crowded so he had to be held or stand still.  The chowder and beer were yummy and we hung out with some friends. Successful fall day.

3)  We LOVE football sundays in this house.  Noah has really gotten into knowing what team is what by their logo, and asking everyone who their favorite team is.  The Mullers come over and we eat way to much and usually try new beverages while the kids have a great time tearing the house apart!

4) The 3 amigos... this kid has become obsessed with the dogs. His favorite is Kona and he wants to be near here all the time!  He now likes to pretend he is a puppy dog too.

Me: "noah you have to be nice to bailey, she is old"
Noah: "she isn't old..... she is fantastic!"

5)  Fall Bucket List:  Some things i want to do or have done

  • Apple picking -done!
  • Pumpkin Picking
  • Pumpkin Decorating/Carving
  • Argos Farm - Going the 19th!
  • Sesame for Halloween - going Sunday!
