Random thoughts

I am trying to get better at this blogging thing so i have something to look back on! My goal is 2 posts a week!

1) Noah helped carve his first pumpkin over the weekend. Brian made a quick ghost so it wouldn't take to long and it would keep his interest. He was a big help and he tells everyone he "scooped the guts...yuck"

2) He had one of those conversations the other morning that i want to start documenting as "Noah says"
Noah: Mickey is sad
Me: Oh no, is Noah sad too?
Noah: No
Me: are you happy?
Noah: No
Me: Then what are you?
Noah:  I'm Noah!!

Yes you are bud, yes you are!

3) I think we have fulfilled everything on our Fall Bucket list: Apple picking, pumpkin picking, Argos farm, Sesame Place for their Halloween festivities, Carved a pumpkin, brought out and read his halloween books and added a few to his collection, watched tv specials about halloween, drank our fair share of pumpkin beer and coffee :-) , Hosted a halloween play date with his friends and everyone wore costumes (except noah and charlie refused), he dressed up today for his class halloween party, tomorrow is trick or treating, tonight we will go to the mall for some T&T practice,

Fall Happenings and Updates

Here are just some random events and tid bits of our days lately

1)Noah started Cherry Lane "pre-school" this year. Technically they call it pre-developmental preschool since he is still a little young. But he has loved it so far. It is 2 days a week (which are now my work from home days). And he is getting a lot out of it. Plus it helps that some of our other friends also go there with him.  He is interacting with kids, learning listening skills, doing crafts and projects, napping on a matt for about 2 hours (which i was nervous about since he is a great crib napper but the thought of so much going on around him had me worried).

  2) October for awhile was just a continuation of summer. We even made it over to the beach a little bit
 3) I organized a Freezer meal exchange in September. We each prepped 1 meal 5 times and then swapped, so we walked away with 5 different freezer meals. So far we have only made one of them but its nice knowing that we have easy meals lined up

 4) Before Pop Pop went down to florida for a little while we went over to visit. Noah loved the motorhome!
 5) Lowes hosts free "Build N Grow" workshops on certain Saturdays. Brian took him last week and he really liked it. Even though brian did most of the work, noah got to put the stickers on and he keeps saying he "made at workshop"

6) We went Apple Picking about a month ago. Noah really got it that he was picking the apples and putting it in our bags. He LOVED being able to eat an apple off the tree

 7) We also went to Argos Farm a couple weeks ago. This is one of the highlights of Fall for me. There is a ton to do all in one place. Giant Slide, Pumpkin Picking, Hay Ride, Corn Maze, Cow Train, Corn Play Box, and new this year is this giant bounce area.

Last year on the left Noah was terrified of the corn box- wouldn't leave my lap... This year on the right he didn't hesitate at all and was rolling and playing in it.

Noah Facts:
  • 29 Months.... not sure of his height but he is about 30 lbs

  • We still fit in our 24month clothes but he is in 2T pajamas.  Some of his shirts can also be 2T. Basically i am not buying anymore 24month stuff and going for the 2T even if its big for awhile.... except for pants, he has a really skinny waist and even the 24m are big or long and have to be rolled down.

  • Sickness:  We have been to the Dr twice since summer has ended. Once was a sinus infection, he had a high fever for a couple days. The other was just this week and Noahs first case of Croup. (knock on wood) we caught it early enough before it really effected his sleeping. He had one night of restlessness and some coughing and by the time he got some medicine in him he has been good at night. He has a hoarse voice and coughs but not as bad as it could be

  • Food- Noah has become picky and opinionated. He likes what he likes and doesnt really want to try new things. Even things he used to love he has shown no interest in, which makes meals hard. Basically we "snack" all day long. He still loves fruit (apples, bananas, melon are his #1). He likes cheese and has taken to turkey roll ups. He also will eat peanut butter sandwhiches if cut into fun shapes or cubes :-)  Its funny cause he eats pizza at school every monday and the teacher says he eats it all up, but when we have it here he rarely eats it. He actually eats better if we are at someone elses house or if other kids are eating it.  He has really liked trying to master the spoon and enjoys yogurt and apple sauce if he doenst mind the frustration of trying to eat it and getting messy. We also have pop tarts, pirate booty, dried apple slices, pouches,

  • Things he loves: toy cars & trucks, playing in forts or hiding, his play kitchen and "cut the fruits and veggies", play doh, drawing on magna doodle. We are also very into our Bunsens now (elephant lovie blanket). It goes everywhere with us.  TV Shows - Mickey, Little Einsteins, Dora/Diego, Bubble guppies.... Movies: Toys Stories, Cars, Monsters Inc. .

  • Vocabulary: He has a ton of words, 2-3 word sentences,  and now we can express what he wants about 75% of the time i would say. I can really understand what he is trying to say 90% of the time, brian maybe 70% and i would guess other people 50%?
    • He likes to yell "surprise" when daddy comes home or if someone is coming over
    • He knows all his colors and shapes
    • We were walking around target and he usually gets some sort of snack while he is in the cart... he starts eating his yogurt melts and goes "Mmmm yummy in my tummy Momma"
    • I was in the kitchen cleaning and i hear him in the other room playing with his cars and he goes "Start your engines boys"
    • He has learned the word "mine"... and everything is "mine" or he calls it "Noahs".
    • i know there are a ton of more vocabulary updates but im drawing a blank

  • Sleep:  We are still sleeping in his crib, he has not shown interest in climbing out yet (YAY! i want him to be confined in there as long as possible!!). I feel like the longer i wait the more he will be able to comprehend the fact that he needs to sleep in his bed and not run around and play etc. I am also not excited about the effects it might have with his routine, He sleeps from 7-7 most nights and still one nap a day anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours.

Summer 2013

Well it looks like i took a little blogging break. I guess i got lazy and was posting to facebook and instagram instead of keeping up. But i know i would like to be able to look back and remember some fun moments and events and since i have not been keeping up with shutterfly albums either i have to get back to this blog a little bit.
So here is a short condensed version of our summer:

My Birthday

Blueberry picking

4th of July

Boardwalk

BlueClaws

Circus and 4th Anniversary

Boardwalk with Cousins

Horseshoe Bay Bermuda

Pool Fun

OBX

Sesame Place

  • 4th of July party was at my dads house and fireworks at Brooks Rd. We BBQ'd and played in the pool. Noah was nervous about the fireworks at first but then really liked them and talked about them for awhile
  • Bermuda Cruise with the entire Eberhardt Family.
  • Circus (we loved the little cheesy circus that came into town and even went twice)
  • Blue Claws baseball games. We really liked them this year, our favorite parts were the bounce houses and when the pork roll egg and cheese raced. When you asked noah about the baseball game he would respond "Eggy and cheese"
  • Our 2nd annual OBX trip with the Taynors and Arzonicos.
  • Swimming in the pool. I could really tell the difference between Noahs skills and the kids who have pools in their back yard, but by the end of the summer he was swimming "freely" with his puddle jumper on.
  • Sesame Place, we got ourselves season tickets that are good for summer, fall, winter 2013 and all of Summer, fall, winter 2014!
  • Beach- we went to the beach a bunch of times besides the week of OBX. He is still hesitant about the ocean, but there was one perfect low tide day in Seaside where it was ankle deep and he loved running around in the water and jumping the little waves
  • Boardwalk- we went to Pt. Pleasant a bunch of times with friends and family. He even started riding some rides by himself!
  • We celebrated my 32nd birthday and Our 4th Anniversary
