12 Month: ONE YEAR OLD!

I just can not believe that we now have a ONE YEAR OLD!  It's crazy! There are definitely times that i think it is all going to fast and of course the cranky stages where it doesn't go fast enough. :-) I am really looking forward to this next coming year and all the exciting things that he will be doing and learning.

I am also going to try to write down little things more, as the time new stuff happens i think to myself "oh i will remember this" or  i wont realize that it is something i will want to look back on and know when it happened. Also, a few of my friends have younger babies and ask "when did noah do this, how old was he when he started...." and it is hard to remember.   Also, the traditional "baby book" kinda stops after 12 months and skips to 2 years, 3 years, etc.  AND month 12 is the last mini shutterfly book i will do.  I am happy that i was able to keep up and he has a whole photo book for each month 1-12.  I think if i did one giant book for his whole first year a lot of little things would have been forgotten about and some pictures wouldnt have made it in.  I was also lucky that out of the 12 books i somehow was able to score about 7 of them FOR FREE! (Random promo codes they sent me, coupons printed out at check out lines, different websites offering free books, etc etc) I NEVER paid full price for a book with coupons and a lot were purchased thru gift cards people gave me :-)

Anyway,  back to month 12.....
We have our check up on tuesday so i will come back and update

  • We started drinking milk in the beginning of the month, and now we have 1 milk bottle a day and 2 formula bottles
  • He is over eating jar baby food, he really only wants to eat what he can feed himself. He will have a pouch at each meal because i think he feels it is something he is doing himself. He has tried a bunch of new foods!  His favorite discover i think has been watermelon. He loves it!

  • He loves his books. When he wants to be read he throws the book at you. He really likes the touch and feel ones.
  • He likes to pull his toys out of his toy chest or bin.
  • He gives actual hugs, its great. He will come crawling up to you and dive into my arms. He squeezes really tight when its time for a nap or bed but then will go down with no problems.
  • He gives big open mouth kisses.  He will also kiss his toys and books if you make a kissing sound.
  • He LOVES his walker. We just started putting him in it again in the kitchen while we are getting a meal ready and he will Nascar around the island laughing and giggling.

I will do another post about how we spent his actual first birthday and his birthday party after it happens.

11 months

Before it gets to late I wanted to do our 11 month update . A lot went on this month!
Highlights: started another round of swim lessons, first Easter, aquarium, blueclaws baseball game, baptism.

Things he is up to:
Finger foods! He loves them. Pizza, melon, pears, bananas, squash, watermelon, chicken parm, were all tried this month in finger food form

He started throwing little fits when I left the room or of we stopped him from doing something he wanted to do

He started getting very shy when we went to someone's house or if anyone came over here for about 10 minutes before warning up.

Can use his walker with no problems

Can bang on a drum with a drum stick

Now has only 3 bottles a day

Can "cruise" around the furniture

Still size 3 cruiser diapers and in all 12 month clothes right now.

Can wave on purpose

Still sleeping from about 6:30 a 6:30 every night with 2 naps a day.

Here are some pictures (already posted Easter and baptism)
